Reach for the Stars
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We are really sad that we will not be able to open our doors to new families and children at our usual 'stay and play' events this year. So instead we have created a virtual tour of our Foundation Unit. This can be seen on our facebook page and our Foundation class pages. We hope you enjoy!
We can't wait to see you all soon!
Unfortunately we are unable to hold our annual sports day at school this year. Please join us on W/B 22nd June for our Virtual Sports week!
Look out on our website, Facebook page and Marvellous Me for instructions and equipment that you will need!
Videos and posts will go live on our Facebook page to launch a daily activity!
We can't wait to see your photos! Enjoy!
We are happy to welcome back some of our Year 6 cohort this week. Please see our facebook site for pictures of our socially distanced classrooms.
We are open daily for Key Worker children. Please ring the office if you require childcare.
W/B 22nd June we will welcome back some R and Y1 children.
On the 27th November, Year 3 and 4 got into the festive spirit (along with over 1,000 other pupils from local schools) and ran the School Games Jingle Jog at Sherwood Pines: A 3K jog wearing Santa hats! What a fantastic event! We got a little sweaty and VERY muddy but most of all, we had an AWESOME time!
Thank you to all the Church Vale Staff that made it possible and the School Games Organisers for such a spectacular event!
Most of all, thank you to our SUPERSTAR children.
On 18th September, all of KS2 took part in the amazing Lego Community Builders Workshop run by Stephen Pilling.
The focus of the Community Builders workshop is to teach pupils about the importance of living in our British community. Using LEGO® bricks they were asked to build a community which showed our national identity by building different types of homes, places of worship, sustainable development; it had to reflect our values and customs and show how they can support others. As well as this, pupils were challenged to be inclusive of others through mutual respect by team building.
Church Vale pupils learnt how communities grow, change and evolve and focused them on the wider world.
They focused on how their community helps others and compared this to other
students work to see who has helped local citizens.
The children had a wonderful time and created thoughtful and sustainable communities. Some children were so inspired they have even continued this at break times in the following weeks!
